My Realization Of Debt
With 10 months left in the military and planning on becoming a stay at home mom, I've come to the realization that I have to take my finances seriously. The last thing I want to do is be a financial burden on my husband. The first thing I did was pay off my credit card. I felt a sense of accomplishment as my balance was over $4,000 in the previous months. I sold my home in San Diego and used the money from the escrow account to help pay it off.
Now, I'm in the process of paying off our whole house water system. In a way, I feel like the balance could be a lot lower. I did one of those free water tests at Home Depot and long story short, purchased a Rainsoft water treatment system. A whopping $6500 at 7.99%. I regret not negotiating the amount but I will say that its the best darn water I have ever tasted. Seriously, you could blindfold me and have me taste different waters and I promise I could tell you which one is ours. It has also helped with the eczema I had. Our water before the system was terrible so its definitely worth every penny, I just wish I would have thought to negotiate the price.
